FAQs

FAQs

I am a beginner and have not made paper flowers before – will I be able to manage the kits?

Yes.  On the whole, the kits can be made by anyone.  You need to be able to cut out simple templates, stretch the paper and glue the petals and leaves accurately, so good fine motor skills are helpful. To build your confidence, you can start with Beginner kits, these are the easiest ones and a good place to begin.  The more difficult ones are marked Intermediate and require a little more time as the petals are smaller and more intricate.  However, the techniques are the same.  The instructions are really clear too, so do not worry!

How do I access the Digital kits and templates?

You will simply be sent a file once your payment has gone through.  Just open it in your own time!  The file will be a simple PDF with templates and instructions.  If there is an instruction video, the link will be included in the PDF.

If you wish to use a Cricut or Silhouette machine, you will also receive a SVG file which can be uploaded and used in your machine.  Should you require a PNG, just email and request it on follyandbird@gmail.com

Are the digital downloads compatible with Cricut and Silhouette cutting machines?

Yes, absolutely.  They are designed specifically with these machines in mind.  They are all available as SVG files.  You can also request a PNG file by contacting us at follyandbird@gmail.com

How long do paper flowers last?

Paper flowers should last for years.  Ideally, they should be kept out of direct sunlight to avoid the colour fading.  Occasionally the glue can fail, and you may find a leaf or two may drop.  To clean or dust, just turn upside down and shake very gently.  Please note that they are only for indoor use.  Colour will run if the products get wet.

Can I mix paper flowers and foliage with fresh flowers and foliage?

Absolutely!  Paper flowers look amazing combined with fresh products!  They really complement each other and can work beautifully!  Try combining your paper flowers with fresh foliage snipped from your garden if you have one – a wonderful and good value way of keeping your house full of realistic, beautiful, paper-fresh bouquets!
